Welcome

A decade later, the time has come for us Good Counsel high school sweethearts to tie the knot and we could not be more excited about getting married in Palm Beach, Florida. Mark may be 0-2 on local weddings, but we cannot wait to celebrate with our closest family and friends under the palms!

The Engagement Story

Connor & Ana

In March 2023, four non-hikers (Connor, Ana, her sister Maria, and her brother-in-law Luke) found themselves headed to Patagonia. Ana always wanted to see the glaciers, and Maria – never shying away from an opportunity to organize fun events – agreed to plan the trip. What Ana did not know, however, was that while Maria was planning the trip, Connor was also planning a proposal.

A week into the trip, they left Argentina for Chile. Their first day in this new country, a guide picked them up at their hotel in Puerto Natales to hike at the nearby Laguna Sofia. Ana should have been suspicious about how quickly Connor was running up the 2-hour hike with what felt like a 90-degree incline. But Ana was too busy grappling with a fear of heights that completely contradicted her interest in Patagonia.

When they reached the top, Ana’s fears were overshadowed by the beautiful blue lagoon surrounded by snowy mountains, rocky cliffs, and colorful vegetation. She and Connor turned to pose for a photo as they did on every hike throughout the trip. But this time, Connor knelt down and asked Ana to marry him after more than 10 years together. Turns out, the guide was really a photographer that Connor organized to capture the moment (shout out to Carlos), and Ana loves reliving the day over and over through the photos.

Ana and Connor were thrilled to celebrate throughout the rest of the trip with Maria and Luke, and they cannot wait to celebrate in Palm Beach with the rest of their family and friends. And when you see them in Palm Beach, make sure to ask them how Maria tricked Ana into getting her nails done before the proposal. It’s a hilarious story you do not want to miss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

We strongly encourage guests to stay with us at the Hilton West Palm Beach so that we can enjoy the resort together in the days leading up to the ceremony! For your convenience, a block of rooms has been reserved and we have arranged transportation from the hotel to the weekend’s events. Please see the “Hotel” tab for more details.

When should I arrive in Palm Beach?

The hotel room block price is guaranteed for the nights of May 17 and May 18, and for May 16 and May 19 depending on availability. Our first scheduled wedding event is the welcome party on Friday night, but we will arrive at the hotel on May 15 and would love to hang out with you by the hotel’s pool and the beach in the days leading up to the ceremony. Please do whatever works best for your schedule.

What will the weather be like?

Warm! The average temperature in Palm Beach in May is 86 degrees.

Is this an indoor or outdoor wedding?

Weather permitting, the welcome party on Friday evening will be outside on grass. Saturday’s events will be inside (you’re welcome).

What is the dress code for the wedding?

The wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday are black-tie. Women should wear a formal floor-length gown or an elegant pantsuit and men should wear a tuxedo. Jos. A. Bank and Men’s Wearhouse both offer tuxedo rentals for seven days. Should you require a rental for longer than seven days, there is a small fee per extra day, which your store location may waive depending on how charming you are! Jos. A. Bank recommends reserving your rental tuxedo two months in advance and Men’s Wearhouse recommends reserving it 30 days in advance at a minimum.

Fly

We recommend flying into Palm Beach International (PBI). PBI is the easiest place to fly into and is a quick 8-minute Uber or Lyft to downtown West Palm Beach.

Fort Lauderdale International (FLL) is also a convenient airport to fly into and has more options for flights. It will be about a 45-minute car ride to downtown West Palm Beach.

For those guests flying into FLL, consider taking the Brightline train. The train ends in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach. They rock a killer happy hour in the afternoons that is sure to start your weekend off on the right foot.
